Master Sergeant Kenneth D Johnson

MSgt Ken JohnsonMaster Sergeant Kenneth D. Johnson, trumpet, hails from Salina, Kansas. He attended Bethany College and Wichita State University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in music performance. Ken’s former teachers include Lonny Schropp, Roger Thorstenberg and Les Linn. Sergeant Johnson has performed with Susan Ashton, Ray Charles, Louie Bellson, Chuck Mangione, Chris Vadalla, Marvin Stamm, Allen Vizzutti, Arturo Sandoval, The Dells, The Temptations, and The New York Voices. Ken joined the Air Force in 1989 and was first stationed at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia.  He became a member of The United States Air Force Academy Band in June 2001.  Ken performs with the concert band, marching band and is the lead trumpeter for the Falconaires.  He has been awarded four Air Force Commendation Medals.
